Italy

In July I got to go to the Urbino Summer School in Paleoclimatology, which was a great learning experience, and the ultimate Italian hangout little town. The food was excellent in the Italian countryside.  We were there for about a month and had mostly lectures and some conference style presentations from student to student, professor to student and student to professor.
